Scotty Yates, Dockmaster gave the dock master report:
- There are only 20 or so people on the wait list since the board approved the $100.00 sign up fee.
- Scotty informed everyone he will be setting down with each new slip renter to review the rules of the boat slips.
- Scotty then reviewed the boat launch ramps along the bay front. He said ramp at 106th street is out of order and dangerous and don’t use it.
- The gravel ramp area is too shallow for boat launching but might be ok for kayakers. The ramp at 5th st has been replaced this year and might be a learning curve on the first launch, but good to go after your first launch.
- Scotty thanks Don Vogel and all the other volunteers that got the new ramp completed. He also asked to be respectful of other boaters waiting to launch their boat and not to tie up the ramp for extended periods of time.
- Scotty then thanked everyone for their help with locking the boat yard gate and keeping the chain locked at the boat ramp.

To those of you I have not met yet, let me introduce myself. My name is Scotty Yates, I am a full-time resident of Paradise Bay Estates for over six years. I am honored to have been asked to be the Dockmaster for Paradise Bay Estates.
We are making great strides in improving the quality of boating in Paradise Bay Estates, especially the security of docks, boat storage lot & the “Million Dollar Lot.”
We have new security cameras, a new fence surrounding the perimeter of the boat yard & new gates
The “Million Dollar Lot” now has a fence that defines Paradise Bay Property and most importantly we now have a new professional Security Patrol Team.
Shareholders, Renters & Guests are required to place Paradise Bay stickers or Day Passes on vehicles, boat trailers & boats. With the proper Paradise Bay stickers our new Security Team can control unauthorized & unidentified vehicles parked on park property which will be towed at owner’s expense.
At the time of this letter we have over 70 people on the dock waitlist. When signing up for the docklist you must read the Dock Rules & Regulations to make sure you qualify. Shareholders that have docks are required to use the docks under our Rules & Regulations.
Complete detailed Rules & Regulations (pdf)
Paper copies of the 'Dock Rules' are also available at the Paradise Bay Estates Office.
Thank you, and looking forward to meeting all the boaters in the near future.

GREETINGS FROM THE PARADISE BAY DOCKMASTER
Well, it is summertime at Paradise Bay and the fun is just getting started.
The best excitement so far.... Jim Gath in his kayak, single handed rescued and towed a 22 ft. “Trophy” boat to safety at the dock while 4 Paradise Bay Boaters cheered him on. Good job Jim!!
The Paradise Bay main boat ramp at 5th street is scheduled to start work soon.
I will post the schedule as we get closer to the construction date. If you need your boat in or out of the water during the down time on the ramp the North Coquina Beach Ramp is very accessible.
Do not use the Paradise Bay gravel ramp at 103rd St Ct.
If you choose to use The Paradise Bay Ramp at 106th St, be advised, it is in terrible condition with a 2 ft drop off at the water.
Most boaters find it almost impossible to pull a boat out at this ramp.
USE THIS RAMP AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
The waters at the Sandbars are absolutely beautiful. Caribbean colors & Sea Life is plentiful.
Looking forward to a great summer in “Paradise”

The current dock wait lists updated 2/1/2022 is available at the office and posted at the fish station billboards. If you have signed up for the Paradise Bay/ Sarasota Bay dock lists and your name or information is incorrect, have been left off the list or not in the correct order please contact me and we will get that fixed.
Reminding all boaters if you have a dock now and purchase a new/bigger boat your dock cannot be guaranteed. If you have storage and you purchase a new/bigger trailer your storage space cannot be guaranteed.
The Dockmaster is required to assign docks by boat size. ALWAYS check before you buy a bigger boat.
The Dock billing season is from January 1-December 31. Next year bills will be mailed or delivered October 1 and due November 1 for the 2023 season. This will make it more manageable to assign open docks for upcoming seasons.
Now that “season” is in full swing, the Dockmaster has been instructed by the Board of Directors to utilize all Dock slips.
ALL ASSIGNED DOCKS MUST BE ACTIVELY IN USE and have the shareholders boat at the dock or lose dock privileges.
Paradise Bay Boat Rules and Regulations pertaining to deteriorating boats and trailers are to be enforced as all boats must be kept in seaworthy condition and trailers must be in serviceable working order.
We are all looking forward to a great season of boating & fishing in our beautiful piece of “Paradise.”
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support!

The Dock billing has been printed early this year to make it more manageable to assign open docks. In order to assign new docks, we must wait until the billing comes back on shareholders that have current dock privileges to determine who will keep the dock or give up the dock privileges.
I am reminding everyone to get Paradise Bay stickers for your car, truck, boat, and trailer. We have a great team of security personnel that will enforce any and all vehicles, trailers and boats that do not have proper identification. Vehicles and trailers will be subject to ticketing and towing at owner’s expense.
