PARADISE BAY SARASOTA BAY BOAT & FISH CLUB MINUTES November 5, 2019 President, Carl Shaver Vice President, Gary Armour Treasurer, Joyce Stepansky Secretary, Sheila Gilstrap The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by President, Carl Shaver, 62 members present. Opening prayer was observed. Treasurer Report and Secretary Minutes were read and approved. VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: Hats and Shirts are available. Sign-up sheets were passed around for the January 6 PB Coffee Hour, Coast Guard Boat Inspection January 28. Plans are being made to have a CPR Class in the spring. Rick Plite 32BW is the liaison for the Coast Guard, please let him know if you want your Boat Inspected. Rick is also working on organizing a Coast Guard Boating Safety Class, more information to follow. Fishing Contest Awards were presented. Next One Day Contest is November 21. 2019. Bill Booher reported the fish are coming back. The Bay is healing and fishing from the Beach yesterday he caught Snook, Reds and Flounder, Ladyfish and Big Lizard Fish! Trout are coming back into the Bay. BOAT ASSIST LIST: Gene Severson, 24J, phone 810-499-2698 is updating this list. Please let him know of any changes. DOCKMASTER REPORT: Don Vogel reported people need to make sure their name is on their boat trailer and DO NOT lock your trailer tongue as boats need to be moved occasionally. Please keep the area clean around your storage area. If you use the asphalt pad to clean your boat, please make sure you clean the area when you are finished. New Projects: Painting the numbers in the storage area. Power washing the Finger Docks. The 5th Street Boat Ramp project is ongoing and will hopefully begin in January. SARASOTA BAY LIAISON: Ted Wilcox 59CM will represent the RV Park from our Club. Discussion regarding changing our name to Paradise Bay Sarasota Bay Boat & Fish Club. Also, the possibility of a new design for our Club and researching SPF 50 shirts. MOTION: PURCHASE A DOUBLE FISH FRYER, PASSED. Meeting was adjourned 9:50 AM
